Delayed gratification 
I have been dreaming of a perfect mcdonalds breakfast for 6 months. Since I started working at the bakery I have dreamed of me leaving early for work and getting an egg mcmuffin before work. It’s never happened. Till today. And today, was tasty

3 Eggs and a Dream

It was late. I was hungry. I had 3 eggs.
(click the title) 

I wanted eggs benedict. There was a problem though-I had never poached an egg (gasp) or made hollandaise (don’t judge i’ve never said i was a chef)


11:00pm- Google to rescue. 
11:02pm- There are a lot of egg recipes

I decided to head back to my fridge to see what else I had and I found veggies and Polenta

11:10pm- Back to google where I found this gem: http://alextcooks.com/recipes/momofuku-510-eggs-with-crispy-polenta-arugula/

At this point I stopped looking at the clock and focused on the matter at hand-Food

1. Hollandaise -
I still wanted it. Using 1 of the valuable eggs I separated the yolk from the white. In a heat safe small bowl started whisking- while my small pot of water was simmering away. Added a small teaspoon? (i don’t know how much to be honest) of water continued whisking and then some lemon juice.
over the pot the bowl went as I added butter till it looked and felt…right..
off the bowl came added salt and cayenne

2.Soft Boiled Eggs
Using the recipe online I soft boiled my eggs for 5 minutes and 10 seconds ( no really, look at the link it says 5 minutes and 10 seconds.) Put them into ice water for 2 minutes and so and then gently cracked them.

Instead of getting sad, I became more determined ( I was still hungry) - 

3. Everything else
On the stove went my polenta while the final egg sat a little in the water (i actually put it back and forth twice in hopes of shocking the egg part i wanted from the shell)
I cut up my veggies- cracked my egg gently this time and had this

I was going to add the hollandaise to the photo - but like i mentioned a few times- i was hungry and was starting to get frustrated with the light in house 
so i ate it.

3 eggs- 1 dream

and a very happy me.
